The red line of light surged towards him and was met with a green flash and the crash of energy as they crossed. Luke grimaced, he didn't want to turn it on but it was either that or run away, and he was willing to battle if it meant a few extra precious minutes to plant the seeds of good in his father.
He had nearly beaten him before, on the Death Star, in a fit of rage he had carved off his mechanical arm, but there he had realized what he was about to become and did not want to repeat the mistakes his father made. Using entirely the side of good, now would he still be able to defeat Vader?
"I don't want to fight you," Luke repeated firmly, his blue eyes not wavering despite the close crackle of saber energy. "But I will if I have to."
He had considered simply turning of his saber and throwing it away like he had did before, forcing Vader to decide whether to strike him down or choose a much better option. But even now, he wasn't sure he entirely trusted him. Doubt. It was there, he knew it. Even though he knew there was good in his father, he wasn't sure about trust.

"I...I am a sergeant...sent on a scouting mission," he said weakly, this role was ill suited for him. He looked at the group and realized they had no activity, nor concern with the Imperials. He wasn't one to lie...and...if they were really Imperials pretending to be good..he was a fast draw. "I have a question for you now," he said matching the question, "are you imperial or rebel?" He knew this was a stupid question, but he couldn't think up anything else. He sat on his bike awaiting their answer. If they said something about the Empire being scum or bantha fodder, then he was in the safe. He still had his helmet on, so they didn't see him sweating the time out. Padmé stood there for a few seconds. There was something about this man's voice that seemed peaceful to her. She hardly felt threatened by him. She walked up to him. And looked at the black shield that hid his eyes. "Took you long enough to decide what rank you are." She said as she kept starring into that black sheild. The other gaurds were shocked. They knew they were doomed now. "I am with the Rebellion. Well, I am in their alliance. I help them any way I can." Padmé figured if he answered her question, she'd answer his. "My lady!! Enough talk!" One of the palace gaurds said as they tried to pull her back closer to them. Padmé yanked their hand away from her arm. She felt relaxed with this trooper for some reason. "I know how hard it is for a rebel to get into Naboo. They might even suggest to a real sly move. Just to get their ships refilled. But for some reason I can tell you're lying about yourself. Aren't you?" She asked. Another gaurd slapped his face! "We're so dead!" He said.

"You got me there..." Wedge chuckled a bit then removed the helmet to reveal his matted brown hair and dark eyes. "Anyone who can last this long on a planet infested with Imperials sure has...guts," he said. He grinned and waved at the guards. "So...how is the defensive lay out of the city? Oh...sorry, guess you're wanting to know who I am?"
He looked at the young woman, her grace and beauty seemed to far surpass any woman he has seen while in the Alliance.
"I am commander Wedge Antilles of Rogue Squadron, I acted as escort during the flight here...with the rest of the Rebels. We came from the planet Ord Mantell...which sadly was blown up by the now active Second Death Star."

The hear of a city being destroyed by the Empire made Padmés stomach churn. She was not the least bit happy of his news. "That's terrible." She replied. She wondered if she should give Wedge her maiden name or married name. "I am Padmé." She just said flat out. No last name yet. She may give away her secretness.
One of the gaurds walked up to Wedge." I am sorry for the way we acted soldier. But we have to hurry and get some where safe before the Empire finds her." The gaurd explained. Padmé gave Wedge a small smile. She was infected by his sweet gentle geltmen like way. Not too many men were that way this day of age.
"We have to get her to the country side. And this passage way will get her there. Will you be willing to help her?" Another gaurd asked him? "The more protection you have My Lady the better off you'd be. Believe me." The head gaurd said. "So will you accompany her?" The head gaurd asked Wedge.

"Well...seeing as it isn't safe anymore...yeah sure, why not. Now, would you like Commander Wedge Antilles to lead you to safety...or Sergeant whathisname?" Wedge came up with the jumbled name, all together people would give him questioning looks if they tried to slowly pronounce it. He looked at the young woman and waited for an answer. It was best they chose one of his identities, instead of say someone else...who he didnt' know how to impersonate. He looked at the guards...wondering how long they had been in the city.

Padmé gave Wedge a smirk and laughed a little. It felt good to laugh. She couldn't remember the last time she even smiled. "We may as well be escorted by your Storm Trooper desiguse. It wouldn't look suspicous." She finally answered him. The last time she felt safe in some other man's presense was her husband. But those feelings for him was long gone. After learning what he has done to the galaxy since she staged her death. She liked the way Wedge felt. And she could say to herself, she trusted him. "Shall we start to head out?" She asked him.

Doubt. Vader knew his son was feeling it, and he knew he wasn't doubting himself, too. He was again quite disturbed by that feeling; he didn't want his son to have doubts about him. He didn't want anybody to have doubts about him! Vader was solid, or so he thought, solid as a Rancor's battle stance. He used that doubt to fuel his rage. He knew that his son had gotten to him, though, for he could feel his rage clouding his mind. He was used to it giving him focus; he wasn't used to having an unclear battle presence while he was in his rage. That also fueled his anger.
He flipped his grip on the saber once, bringing the weapon spinning around at high speeds and coming in for an attack at an opposite angle. He made the move quickly and without much effort; it was all he could do to keep himself in the fight and out of his mounting rage. It wasn't a deft or skillfull attack, but rather a simple and straight forward one.
Luke's words had barely registered at the time, but now that they were having a bit of time to settle in, Vader had the presence of mind to answer him as he had on the Death Star in what had seemed like an age ago. "If you will not fight," he promised, "You will die!"

Wedge chuckled a bit and then put the heavy scout helmet back on. He then turned on the engine of his speeder bike and began to feel his feet lift from the ground. He then looked over at Padame and his guards and said in an electronic voice. "Alright...move it prisoners...or I'll be forced to blast your scum hides all the way to Hoth!"
He then used his blaster pistol to usher them forward, always flying alongside them making sure it seemed believable.

Luke registered the deadly red beam coming straightforward at him, nothing too fancy so he swung his green saber right back at it, clutching the weapon tightly with both his hands. There was another surge of crackling energy as the sabers met, and Luke pushed harder against Vader's in an attempt to lock them together.
He wasn't sure how strong Vader would be in this kind of contest, but he could always use the force to back him up. Then again, Vader could as well. So it wouldn't be merely a physical battle of course, but a mental one to test each other's mastery of the Force. His father had a good few decades on him, unfortunately, and it wasn't like Luke was trained as a child.
Uncle Owen often discouraged anything that even remotely resembled a chance for him to use the Force and yelled at him when he did something 'odd', so he had subconsciously learned, as a child, to not use it.
"If you will not fight. You will die!"
"Can you strike me down?" The blond haired young man asked. "Would you be able to strike your own son down? Father?

Padmé and her personal gaurds did as they were told. No questions asked. They had to make it look real. For their lives were at steak. One false move and everyone was in trouble. They pass a few storm troopers who said nothing but nodded at Wedge as the group walked on.
Padmé glanced back at the troopers as they were in the clear ,and walked up to Wedge. "Our new hide out is not far." She said in a whisper tone. She noticed how her home was becoming thrown over by the Empire. She prayed that her home would not be destroyed. But she kidding herself. It would be a miracle if the Death Star didn't show up here.
"I hope our home is safe." She whispered to where anyone could hear her. If she was still queen she'd fight to the death. But her rein was long than over. She's not even suppose to be alive in this time. But they took every precaution nessessary due to this stressful times.
Padmé longed to ask Wedge if her son and daughter were alive and in with the Rebellion . But even if they were with nice homes at least they'd be safe. That's what she had Obi-Wan Kenobi do for her. Her children would be better off not even knowing she was alive.

Wedge nodded his head at the stormtroopers with their rifles pressed against their white plate of armor. He listened at what Padame said with an open ear, and then was a little relieved to hear their base wasn't that far away. For a majority of the time he kept quiet, occassionally saying, "keep moving...rebel scum, or "the Empire does not like back talk," he saw a clearing up ahead and since the checkpoint was currently preoccupied with Vader's arrival, He passed it, along with the prisoners.
Wedge made sure they were safe before he gently coasted to a stop.

Vader couldn't remain calm any longer; There was no way he could pour all of his unjust anger out into calling the Dark Side, especially in his evil-lacking state of mind. He was nearly blinded in his rage as his son gave the final blow to his reservation. 'Can you strike me down?' Could he, the same Lord Vader who had destroyed planets and killed hundreds of Jedi, strike this one Force-Using demi-Jedi down? It was laughable! How dare he imply such a thing! The misguided anger flashed to a high point within him, and he surged forward.
He embraced the saber lock his son had started, pushing up against him with mechanical might. He pushed the angry side of the Force up against him as well, though he was able to call on only a portion of it in his only half-evil state of mind. He wasn't breathing any harder; that was impossible for him. Behind the mask, though, Vader couldn't deny that his son was tiring him out shockingly fast. He was certain that this would be over soon, one way or the other.
((Sorry for shortness...))

Luke felt the pressure welling up from behind the red line of Vader's lightsaber, he was unimaginably strong and was using the Force to be even stronger. He grunted with exertion, feeling a bead of sweat trickle down his forehead. This was mostly from stress and exertion rather than temperature. He was used to feeling hot, being from Tatooine and all, and this planet was positively mild and had excellent weather.
He released his green saber from the lock and leapt to the right side to avoid getting hit from the eventual retaliation, swinging it back towards Vader's legs in a large sweep. He had figured as much they'd be mechancial too, so the guilt wasn't as bad as if it were flesh and blood.
Apparently the answer to his question was there in the fact that Vader was still fighting. Luke grimaced. He wanted to dig deeper and make him realize the good. But how? He had begun to doubt his own ability, coming from the intense optimism he had to start out with on Endor when he had surrendered to Vader.
Now, after the other loss, he was starting to feel at a loss.

A palace gaurd peered around a corner to make sure they were in the clear. They would have to take a small boat to the other side of the lake. That part of Naboo wasn't infected by storm troopers yet. And it happened to be where Padmé's childhood home was. " This part of the country is completely safe." Padmé told Wedge as they rested for a bit.
"My lady you should just go with Wedge." One of the gaurds spoke up. "I beg your pardon?" Padmé asked confused. "We will be better off protecting the palace. They haven't broken into that place yet." The gaurd informed her. They were all very lucky, the palace wasn't storming with Imperials. They wouldn't have gotten out in the first place. If the palace was invaded. " I understand you need to stay behind." Padmé answered them. "Besides Wedge'll look after me." She finished. "Be safe My Lady. And don't worry, all will come in due's time." The head palace gaurd said as he hugged her. "I'll miss you. I may never see you three again." Padmé was hugging him while she said that. "Now go. Before you can't." The head palace gaurd ordered her. She nodded.
The boat was just in Padmé's and Wedge's reach. They were going to make it. "There it is. It doesn't look like much , but it'll get you to the country side in no time." She explained to Wedge. " You might want to lose your speeder. Where we're going nothing like that is allowed." She informed him.

Wedge watched the emotional scene with care, for one he didn't want to seem like he was spying, and two...it seemed personal. He kept himself busy by checking the comm frequency every now and then to make sure his troooper id wasn't read, he still had no idea what it was. When she spoke to him again about losing the speeder he understood. "Alright...wait right here," Wedge rode the speeder over to where a tree was, he knew he had to get rid of the speeder, so he rode it up a low sloped log and into the tree. He then made sure it was covered by the leaves before dropping to the grass and coming out in a roll.
He thought about his uniform and went behind the tree to pull off the heavy armor, when he came out he wore a black shirt and some jeans. The Rogue Squardon insignia and rank were patched on his arm. His current flight suit was safe with Mynock. He went to the boat and gestured for her to get in.
"After you Padame," he said. As he waited he looked at the guards, he knew they would be sad to see her go, as the saying went, until we meet again.
