As the two raced toward the city, a checkpoint appeared around a corner. A couple stormtroopers were sitting around the laser gate, and one got up to tell the two to stop. When they were up to him he stepped up to Luke. "Hello there. Whats your troop number?" The trooper asked, the other trooper was eyeing wedge's speeder. there were scratches showing all over it.

On the far side of Naboo. Far from Luke and Wedge. A young woman walks with two gaurds as they cross a market street. The young woman had a hood over her face as they walked and trying to be quiet about it. But with the Empire Troops searching the whole planet , it was impossible to not be noticed.

Wedge enjoyed the breeze, even though it was scorching hot in his armor. The constant tree ambush made him have to turn unexpectedly to the right, then swoop between two trees close together. One tree was very low so he hit the altitude controls with his feet and went soaring over it. "This is great...it really beats waiting around for the-."
Wedge hit the brakes as he saw the checkpoint and realized they had really hit a roadblock. Especially when asked about their numbers. He looked to Luke and spoke:
"Yes...our number..." Wedge hadn't really paid attention to the number...so he looked to Luke, hoping he did.

The gate came suddenly and Luke hit the brakes, feeling just this side of nervous.
"Hello there. Whats your troop number?"
Uh oh. He had no idea what it was. A quick glance at Wedge, who didn't know it either. They could guess, but they'd probably be wrong. Surely be wrong.
"You don't need to see our troop number," Luke said casually with a flick of his wrist.
He really, really hoped this worked and the stormtroopers before them were vulnerable to something as simple as oh...a Jedi mind trick.

Wedge felt relieved when Luke did the old jedi mind trick, he just hoped these two were not so strong in the mind. Luke explained to him a bit about the whole jedi powers. Apparently if that person was weak...they could be controlled to do anything the jedi wants, like letting them out of a cell, or giving them a cookie. In a way it was like hypnosis, but you were awake the whole time...once you were released from the trick...you had no clue what happened.
As he sat there he messed with his cufflinks and tapped the helmet. He hoped the droids were ok, again he could feel the hot blame of Mynock's squeal at being left behind. The droid was shot at constantly by Tie Fighter green lasers of death, he barely got to stretch his legs. Wedge then waited to see if the trick would work.

By this time the second trooper had walked off to handle another vehicle entering.
However the trooper who had stopped them just stood there staring at look. Once or twice he glances off and then at wedge. After about 20 seconds, the second trooper speaks up. "I got a bad ID here." The two wrestle the man driving the speeder out and to the ground, then shoot him "Now then..."

Luke watched, concentrating on the remaining trooper. He seemed to stare blankly for a moment, then snapped out of it when the other trooper needed his help. He watched as they took the possibly innocent man down and shot him. He winced, wishing he could help, but it'd just sign their own death warrants and end up notifying the Empire of the Rebellion's plans for this planet.
"Let's go," Luke whispered as low as he could in the crackly voice of the trooper helmet and started his speeder, hoping to put some distance between them and this checkpoint.

The stormtrooper heard the bikes and looked over. "Go ahead." He called over while dragging off the man.
(I love NPC posts. So little work. So big an effect)

Wedge nodded his head in agreement. He turned on the ignition and felt the speeder power up. The engine making a sound like some other animal, kept up in a cage. He didn't really know if they were accepted or not, did the mind trick work...seeing the trooper killed made him wince. Imperials could be easily replaced, that was the sad thing. He felt the speeder rise up from the ground and he looked to Luke again.

Luke guided his speeder towards a set of buildings that looked neither too rich nor too poor. The archetecture of the place was astounding, and he caught himself staring many a time at some ornate rooftop or series of columns. After all, a farmboy from Tatooine doesn't get the chance to see things like this very often.
"Hey Wedge, let's dump the speeders here and see where we can get on foot. We're kinda conspciuous here. I want to end up near the palace. That way we can see how much the Imperials have control over this planet."

"Ma'Mam This way. We have to hurry and not be spotted." The young girl spoke to them. "They arrived sooner than I thought." Another palace gaurd was walking the other side of her. "So is the Rebellion. We have to find somebody intact with the rebels so they can escort you straight to their fort they have here. If they have one yet. I'm sorry My lady I'm just scared for your life." The palace gaurd told her. "Thank you. I'm worried about all of us." She finished.

A Couple of stormtroopers were walking by. Once they were behind Padme they took a look at her. Troopers weren't aloud to have... realtion, with people, so they took every chance to gaze out of envy. After they stared at the woman they walked away, chatting amongst eachother.

*NOTE TO PLAYERS!* This post takes place after the duel with Falco on Umgul. Luke and I are just too impatient for each other. *Snicker*
Lord Vader was at the bridge of the Frigate. It was in hyperspace at the time, and the impatient Dark Lord was already getting sick of waiting for it to arrive. He needed the reinforcements from Naboo if he was going to get his sweep of the planet Umgul done on time. His thoughts dwelt on his son, the Jedi whose shaking defiance to the Dark Side was even now coming back to mind as the cloud of Sith Poison was lifted from it. He had to wonder what he was doing in that instant, what steps he was taking to bring down the Empire from whatever his new locale was.
... Or had he been destroyed at Ord Mantell? No. After the Death Star had fired, Vader could sense his presence in the Republic fleet for just an instant before a jump to hyperspace. He was alive, and he would continue his work. His destiny was not yet spent yet. But that wasn't what bothered him.
What bothered him was that he didn't know if that was a bad thing or not.
As the stars began to slow and come into focus, Vader peered out to the planet Naboo. Immediately, his senses picked up on a presence that was all too familiar to him. He didn't show any outward signs of his surprise, but behind his mask his eyes grew wide indeed. "Prepare my shuttle, commander," Vader said. "There has been a change of plans. I will go to the surface and deal with this transfer in person." 'Luke...' he thought privately, 'How strange that I should find you here, my son.'

Luke was just getting off of his speeder, when he felt it. His father's presence. His own eyes too opened wide underneath his stormtrooper helmet, he must have just came from hyperspace or something.
"Oh no..." he muttered. What was he doing here? Were the Rebels spotted already? He looked up into the sky expectantly, but didn't see any evidence of a space battle.
He knew that Vader would come for him. And if that meant he had to confront him to buy the others some time to hide out, then he'd do it, too. He remembered the last time he had been with his father. He'd come so close to turning him back, he could feel it. Luke knew there was good in his father, it was just a matter of time before he could convince him of it. If only he had made a bigger impression last time. Unfortunately that whole situation went down the drain with their terrible loss. Now Vader knew that Leia was his sister, putting her in danger as well.
"Er, Wedge? I think we're going to have a problem," his voice was a little strained. Not frightened. But strained.
"There's somebody coming here. Somebody important...and dangerous. He's probably going to be here soon, and follow me."

Vader knew that his son had sensed him, just as his son knew that he was being tracked. That knowledge made the shuttle seem to move even slower as it descended to the surface, the nearly unbearable urge to speak with his son a third time rising up within him. He closed his eyes, entering into a dark medetation as he spoke across the vast distance between them, the Force his medium of communication just as it had been on Cloud City years before.
"My son," he called out. He said nothing other then that, the need for further words negated by the mutual feelings Vader felt... Barely. Indeed, his son had become strong. He was quickly transforming from a Jedi Knight into a true Jedi Master; he was a powerful, worthey and respectable foe in all regards. Perhaps that was why Vader had helped him escape? Or perhaps....
"My Lord?" one of the pilots asked, having mistakenly thought Vader was talking to him.
"Continue on your course toward Theed. Then return to the command ship immediately and wait for my summons. I will walk the city alone," the Sith Lord instructed. He didn't want any interferance from the Stormtroopers or the Imperial Army when he encountered his son this time.
