Bria sighed, but kept her gun up. She couldn't take chances, especially with someone who knew fighting and war as well as he seemed.
"All right then." She said, her fury not abating. "It's because of the Alliance that my father's dead. Is that enough?" Her grey eyes flashed, the odd habit of fury chaning her eyes slowly to blue- something that rarely happened any more.
She was visibly shaking now, though kept her gaze up, still staring at the person in front of her.

He was glad she managed to open up a little. It was a start, at least, rather than her simply shooting him instead. He wondered if she was simply out for anyone who joined the Alliance, rather than actually picking him out personally out of a crowd.
"And you feel that by killing me, your father will be avenged? It'd make yourself feel better?" Luke's eyebrows raised, a curious tone in his voice. He seemed a little more relaxed, though still wary.

The young man's words peirced through Bria's anger like hot needles. Guilt followed soon after... another thing she had never had a reason to feel for a long time. Slowly, she lowered her gun to her side, yet still at an angle where she could bring it up quickly.
"No." She said softly. "I don't think that." Her eyes finally left him, changing back to grey as she looked over his shoulder into the shadows.

He breathed a sigh of relief, the tension seeming to flow from his being. He wasn't sure that would work. At last he had gotten through. He was still ready to move at a moment's notice, but at least the need wasn't critical. He just hoped he didn't accidentally say something to trigger her.
"If there's anything I can do..." he said softly. There was no point in trying the famed 'Jedi mind trick' even to simply calm her down enough for him to make an escape, it probably wouldn't work on her.
"It might not make it better, but at least I can say I'm sorry...from the Alliance."

Bria shook her head. "The dead can't come back." she said. "And I should be the one who should be apologising." The girl returned her gaze to him, her curiosity still lit slightly.
Sighing, she stood back against the wall, and gestured that thr young man could leave. She looked down slightly, still feeling the last twinges of guilt inside her.

Luke seriously considered leaving for a moment, getting out of this bad area and march right back to the base, but something told him that it might be wrong to indeed leave her there like that. If she was in that much grief that she would attack any member of the Alliance so suddenly like that, then maybe he ought to help.
"Maybe you need to talk about it?" He said quietly, not making any move to go.

Bria continued looking down, though she raised her eyebrows slightly. "I barely remember him... I don't need to talk about it."
Of course that was a lie, but she ignored the thought as she gestured once more to the opening in the alley. "You know... you can leave." She looked up, frowning slightly.

"I'm not leaving until I get to the bottom of why you would assault a member of the Alliance despite being a good person underneath," he said with raised eyebrows, crossing his arms and not making any move to leave.
He was idealistic and saw good in everyone, after all he had gone after his father in this way. It was mostly a failure, but Luke survived, didn't he? If Vader was truly all evil, he'd be dead by now.

Bria's eyes flashed, once more beginning their odd habit of turning blue. "Good underneath?" she said with a hollow laugh. "Of course." She glared openly- again- at the young man, wishing that he would just move on.
She half raised her gun, keeping it off to the side as she continued staring in disbelief. "Do you always suspect the best of people?" she said, half to herself, her blue-grey eyes glinting slightly in the half-light.

He carefully watched the progress of her gun, ready to move if need be. It was dangerous, to keep staying here with this girl, in all honesty. But he felt it his responsibility somehow to help those who needed it. And he felt that she needed help.
Luke grinned a little. "It's a bad habit, I guess. But it's been proven before. I have no reason to doubt it." He really did see good in everyone...almost everyone. There were those who were too far gone. Like the Emperor. There was nothing but pure evil coming off of that man, if he could even be called, still a man. But he certainly didn't group this girl in with that lot. He suspected she must have had a lot of love in her, to provoke that kind of reaction earlier.

Bria lowered her gun again, resisting to do the childish act of rolling her eyes. "A bad habit- no, of course not." she said quietly, a ghost of a smile flashing across her face. She got rid of it immediately, instead returning to her previous state.
Her eyes misted slightly as she thought back on what he said... which turned back onto the memories of her father. Angrily, she wiped away the rebellious tear that had formed and returning to looking at the other person. Still, why he wouldn't leave was beyond her.
"You know, you can still leave. I'm not stopping you."

Luke spied the almost-smile. Which he returned with one of his own. Now we're getting somewhere. If she thought that way, well then, that was a good thing. If he tried with the Force, he might have been able to sense what she was feeling, but he felt that was kind of intrusive and it was more polite to ask about it. People could get offended, he reminded himself, of that kind of ability.
"Maybe I'm going in the same direction as you?" He said casually. "I thought we could have a chat or something. I'm just being friendly." His whole farm-boy attitude showed through there for a moment.

Bria couldn't help. She began to laugh, but stopped abruptly. "A chat?" she said, still grinning. "A chat? Well that proves it then." Hiding her smile as best she could, she sighed slightly and holstered her weapon.
She knew all traces of her anger were long gone, and that it was obvious, but there was nothing she could do about that.

A visible sigh of relief on Luke's part when she holstered her weapon. Now that was indeed progress. She didn't seem mad anymore, at least. He shifted footing, looking around the alley for any interruptions. They seemed to be left well enough alone if there was anyone watching. Or maybe no one else would dare venture in this type of place.
"Well, you seem to know that I'm obviously new here. I tried not to be obvious," he chuckled, honesty showing through. "I was bo--I was raised on Tatooine. Are you from Ord Mantell?" He left out the born part, because now that he knew who his father was, he wasn't quite sure where exactly he was born, by now.

Bria's eyes widened slightly. "Ta- Tatooine?" she said, slightly shocked.Shaking her head to clear it, she paused before replying.
"I'm not from here... I'm from-" Bria paused, uncertain she should continue. Throwing caution to the wind, she finished her sentence. "I am from Tatooine myself. Born there anyway."
