Luke smirked back, indeed it reminded him of Hoth as well, and he ducked as suddenly blaster fire filled the air. He ran right into the front of it, deflecting as many laser blasts as he could so that the guys behind him could get better shots in, the green lightsaber creating a dazzling lightshow in of itself.
Then suddenly, it stopped and Luke recognized the familiar shape in the sky. He swallowed. They had brought it here, condemned the people of Ord Mantell. But now was not the time to think of such things.
"Hey Wedge? When the Imperials decide to leave, that really means we should leave!" He tried to keep a light mood about him. He turned off his weapon and dashed towards his X-wing.

Bria was frozen to the spot. She had heard Luke clearly, but her eyes were locked on the disck high in the sky. Her eyes narrowed.
"So that's it." She said, the same cold fury she had felt before flowing through her veins. She stared at it, before snapping back into reality. There was nothing she could do on the planet, and if she stayed... yes.
Fury ebbing, she dashed towards one of the transports that hadn't left yet, and paused before going inside. It was chaos. Sighing, she ran into the transport as the doors closed.

"I always liked your ideas Luke," he said and shot from his hiding place hopefully taking down as many stormtroopers as possible. He began to ascend the ladder into his X-Wing and as he landed in the cockpit he began speaking to R5. "Alright Mynock...did you run the start up?" A few text of lines scrolled across the screen and he grinned. "Alright...looks like everything is go."
Wedge slid the helmet on and the visor went down. He watched the weapon sig go green, fuel sig go green, even warp was sig green. He opened the comm so all rebel ships could hear:
"This is Commander Wedge Antilles here, all ships evacuate the vicinity as soon as possible. The Imperials are on the base...leave as soon as you have clerance...don't waste your time trying to be a hero...we need all the heroes we can get. Luke, you have the coordinates?"

Luke hopped up the ladder into his X-Wing, hearing a fury of beeps and woops from Artoo. Apparently he was angry at them cutting it this close.
"I know, I know," he didn't even have to read the translation and he knew what he meant. He stuffed his helmet on his head and took a glance at the last transport, where he saw Bria getting in. Good, she was safe, at least.
"Here they are, Wedge," he relayed the coordinates quickly as his engines started up. A warning from the fleet was heard on the frequency he was listening in.
"Death Star in range!"
"This is gonna be close," he muttered, taking in a deep breath as he punched the engines and the X-wing dashed off and out of the hangar. The last transport lumbered behind them.
He hit the clouds and took one last glance at the ruined city of Wolport beneath them. A tragedy that was about to happen and even with the citizens rounded up by the Empire and what few the Rebellion could rescue, there would be a lot of people that couldn't make it off of the planet. The Death Star hung like a predatory animal in the sky.

Wedge received the coordinates and began to lower the transparisteel canopy. As it whined into locked position he hit the ignition and his X-Wing began to hover above the ground. The whole place was beginning to shake, seeing as the Ultimate evil hung over the little place. He watched as heavy debris came raining down and saw the panic in Mynock's text. "Alright R5...I'm going...farewell Ord Mantell...your suffering will be repaid..."
He hit the throttle and sped out of the hangar as the large piece of debris came down almost smashing the fusial thrust engine as he flew out. He pointed the nose cone up and began to ascend out of the atmosphere. He pushed the throttle more and was pushed back into his seat.
"Well...I guess there is no point in waiting around here," his voice had sadness in it, all the Rebels would be feeling this for months, until they got deserved justice on their enemy. "Luke...it looks like these coordinates place us a good deal away from Naboo. I'm afraid there is a lot of empty space...so keep your eyes sharp."
Wedge hit the coordinates in then went into warp.
(Hey Luke, I'm going to post in the space category. Seeing how Wedge is best when in space.)

"Luke...it looks like these coordinates place us a good deal away from Naboo. I'm afraid there is a lot of empty space...so keep your eyes sharp."
"No problem," his voice came back over the com. "I'll be following you in a couple of minutes."
His X-Wing darted around the transport in case any Ties decided to try anything. It didn't matter, the Death Star was about to fire, and most everything was clear.
The atmosphere gave way to the emptiness of space and the familiar shape of the space station loomed closely. Luke felt a pang in his chest, it shouldn't be there. They had a chance to stop this terror before. And now look what was about to happen.
"All ships, stay clear of the Death Star! Making the jump to hyperspace!" Came a voice over the com from the fleet as one by one, their shapes distorted as they made the leap. The transport he was following made the jump, and Luke saw the green glow of the space station's main weapon begin to power up.
Artoo screeched.
"I'm going, I'm going! Punching it--" Luke hit the controls and there was a lurch, as the last remnants of the Rebels dissapeared from Ord Mantell.
And the planet dissapeared from existence.
