Canon characters are expected to behave and act like the characters from the movies right at the end of Return of the Jedi.
Where you take them from there is up to you, but please remember their traits, their quirks and their personality.
I understand that development is a natural and most of the time 'slow' process.
And I've personally been guilty of going out of character in stories before too. Sometimes when trying out a new character I've not been able to figure out just exactly what they would do in certain situations.
But, like stated before, it's up to you in the end.
Just remember the other characters who are used to dealing with you will be used to dealing with 'you' from the movie.
Please be relatively active as a canon character. At LEAST 2 posts a week.
You may reserve a canon character for a period of ONE WEEK only. You have ONE WEEK to write your bio (though I'd prefer for it to be written immediately, go figure) and if it is not completed in that time the character is forfeit and up for grabs.
If you are gone for more than a month WITHOUT notice, your canon character is also up for grabs again. If you go missing for a long time (a week +) it is advisable for you to leave instructions as to per the NPCing of your character so that others can use them if they need them.
Wikipedia is the most awesome resource for an RPer. Use it like you use the Force. And wookieepedia.com is good too, lol. -Bjmp

I'd very much like to reserve Darth Vader for myself. I have interesting plans for where I think the Dark Lord of the Sith should wind up going

Here are some baddies to add to the roster:
Commander Jerjerrod
Sadly most of the insanely evil villains don't make an entrance for some time. Right now it seems the lead villains are Vader and the Emperor.

General Veers and Admiral Nida were both killed when the Executor crashed into the second Death Star along with the entire 501st legion. What we need are not those cannons, but some new original characters to replace them. However, I would definately like to see Emperor's Hand Mara Jade come into this picture. That could lead to some interesting twists for Luke. YAYS!!! WE FINALLY HAVE A DARTH VADER!!!^^ Honestly, I'm surprised that you couldnt' find one earlier. Vader was probably the best-known and loved villain of the late 70s and 80s, and was 3rd on the list of the best villains of all time, according to some magazine or another. Not that I'm complaining, I'm glad that I got the job, I'm just quite surprised.

I think Mara Jade is in hiding at this point. She doesn't make her first appearance until Heir to the Emperor by Timothy Zahn, that happens 5 years after one of the movies...I think it's after Return of the Jedi. I've read them, I think people may have to create their own. Like I said, some of the very insane villains like thrawn, jorus c. boath...or even a spirit of Exar Kun don't show up for years. Create their own villains, there is a lack of them, there are still a bunch of rebels, I think I listed a few in the light side canon list.

Aye, I think you're about right about that. Still, I have one request for the original characters: No more Sith, please. There are supposed to only be two in the entire galaxy and we've already got one extra, so... Any more would really be a bother ^_^'

I agree with you there Darth, during this time there were only two sith. Actually in this rp, in the novels it took some time before the sith rose again. It was merely Imperials fighting for power. As of here...too many Siths would ruin the atmosphere.

... am I the only Imperial currently in the game?
Another idea for a cannon Dark character: Boba Fett. I know he got fed to the Sarlaac, but its later revealed that his armor made him indigestable to the beast, so he could quite conceivably be alive, up and running during this RP. I mean, he had to get out of the creature's belly relatively quickly or he would've died of starvation/thirst.
Edit: Why is Boba neutral? The guy's definately a vile dark sider.

I agree with the Sith thing, so we're definitely at the max for now. We've got a good set of villains at the moment, considering the main ones in the movie are still alive.
I actually would like a Mara Jade, that would be a lot of fun so maybe we couldn't work it out somehow and have her in here.
I read several EU novels but it was such a long time ago I don't remember that much...I think I read the Timothy Zahn ones.
So what's the verdict on Thrawn, should we add him?

I think we should, but not as an admiral yet. I've never read the trillogy, but I seriously doubt he just popped out of nowhere or that he was born with the rank of Admiral. Maybe we should add him at a lower rank, like maybe Captain or Lieutenant Thrawn, at this point.

You're not the only Imperial, we have a Stormtrooper commander. Also I always thought of Boba as more neutral mostly because of what I read in the Han Solo trilogy books, even as a bad guy he was basically honorable there, but what's your take on it?

As far as I know, Boba Fett has never worked for a reputable employer in his whole life. His work deals with the taking of the most sacred thing a person has available: life. We can also assume that he may well be a bit of a sadist from the movies, as Darth Vader seems to be particularly intent on him when he limits the use of the most painful method of death, disintegration. Overall, I think we can pretty safely say that despite the honor he shows on the hunt, Boba Fett is a pretty nasty character.
